For Nursing Homes
Reliable student volunteers, on the days and hours that suit your building, with no cost and no software to install.
How it works for you
You set the hours
Add the weekly times you want volunteers and how many you can take. Pause any of them whenever you like, and close individual dates for holidays or an outbreak.
You see who is coming
Name, grade, school, and a guardian contact number for every student booked in. Today’s list is the first thing on your dashboard.
Two clicks to confirm
After a visit, mark whether they came and adjust the minutes if needed. That is the entire administrative burden.
Your requirements come first
If you need orientation or a TB test before a first visit, we flag it to the student when they book and track who is cleared.
What we ask of you
- A named coordinator who can confirm attendance, usually the activities director.
- Hours when staff are on the floor — volunteers are never alone with residents unsupervised.
- Tell us your screening requirements up front so students are not turned away at the door.
- Let us know quickly if a student does not work out. We will handle it.
Safeguarding
Every student has written permission from a parent or guardian before they can book anything. Guidelines on privacy, boundaries and what is never a volunteer’s job are shown at signup and linked from every page. Students are told to raise anything that concerns them with your staff first, and with us as well.
We are not a substitute for your own volunteer policy or your insurer’s requirements — we are the scheduling and record-keeping layer that sits on top of them.
Getting started
Email hello@kids4care.org with your home’s name and a contact. We will add your listing and send your coordinator a login. It takes about ten minutes, and you can put your first hours up the same day.
