Two problems that solve each other. Residents in care homes are lonely, particularly on weekday afternoons. High school students need community service hours and often don’t know where to start.

What we do

We keep a list of care homes that welcome student volunteers, along with the hours each one has open. Students find the closest home, book a time, and show up. The home confirms they came, and we turn that into a record their school will accept.

Why the hours matter

Most schools require documented service hours, and “documented” is the hard part. A signed, dated record naming the facility and the staff member who confirmed it is what a school office needs. Producing that automatically is most of what this site does.

Why companionship

Loneliness in later life is not a small thing — it tracks with worse health outcomes and faster decline. Care staff are stretched thin and rarely have time to simply sit and listen. A student who turns up every Tuesday and remembers last week’s conversation is doing something genuinely valuable, and it costs nothing but time.

What it costs

Nothing, for students or for homes. We are a non-profit.
